The results

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to report that I received 684 votes in the County Council elections, 14% of the overall vote in my ward.  I was encouraged to receive so many votes from people who obviously agreed with my policies.

The Labour candidate in my ward  received only 33 more votes than I did.  This was my first time standing in an election, I used this election as a sounding board and an experience.

It was hard work, but it was very enjoyable.  I can now go forward to reach my ambition to work for the pensioners.

County Council Elections

Hello everyone,

I, with the help of many others, have managed to deliver almost 3,000 leaflets to homes in Gloucestershire.

At this point in time I will be standing as an Independent in the elections on June 4th.  I do not expect to win this one, but I needed the experience at a local level before deciding to take on “the powers that be”, in Brussels.

I have to say that it has been hard work so far, but I feel that I can now go forward to fight for the pensioners in this country to ensure that they obtain all of the rights they are entitled to.

County Council Elections

I have now been registered to stand as an Independent candidate in the County Council elections in June.  Should I become elected I wish to investigate where our money goes.  I also would like to change the way our youngsters and pensioners are catered for.  We have a duty to ensure that the youngsters of today can take care of our world in the future.  We also have a duty to our pensioners who have been treated very badly by both Government and local councils.

Reply to Mr Faust

I agree with you Mr Faust, we have had our ‘uses’ in the past, and now we are left to flounder.

We, the pensioners, expect nothing except a decent and respectable pension.  We would not need ‘extra payments’ were we to receive from this government, an acceptable sum of money to live on and pay our bills.  Reducing the VAT to 15% is a joke,  it doesn’t really help us at all.

I think that VAT should be abolished, we are the only ones who are losing out on this stealth tax, for the companies who charge VAT can claim it back from the Government, so what is the point?  The point is that we are being charged an extra tax on the goods we buy, once again the most vulnerable in our society is having to pay tax on our meagre pensions.

I firmly believe that the Utility companies should be re-nationalised, this would then mean fairness for all, instead of putting our money into the pockets of the fat cats and the shareholders.  There are approx 12 million pensioners in the UK, and millions of these are living below the poverty line.  What a way to treat the very people who fought and lost their lives to give this country the freedom they enjoy!

COLD SNAP

I believe that Gordon Brown said that if the weather was extremely cold for a period of seven days, then the pensioners would receive more cash towards their utility bills!

Maybe we should ask our MPs if we will be receiving this promised cash?

Christmas Greetings

I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.

It will be after the New year that my campaign gets underway.  I will not only be campaigning for Pensioners Rights, but also for the council to provide youth clubs for the youngsters, in the hopes that this would keep them off the streets, and doing something worthwhile for their community.

Special thanks to Eddie.

Watch this space.

Christmas Greetings

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas, and a happy, healthy New Year.  My special thanks to Eddie.

It is after the New Year that the real work will begin in an effort to win my ‘ward’, with my campaign for Pensioners rights.   I will also be campaigning for youth clubs for the youngsters,  hoping that it would keep them off the streets, giving them somewhere to go and something to do for their community.
